Books For CBSE 12th Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology
A complexity to pick between the books from various publications makes you freeze. What’s more, you end this picking amusement up with selecting a book having weight around 2 to 2.5 kg. Furthermore, what happens when your companion lets you know that you have purchased a useless book (any of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology). This takes all your trust away from the book in which you have contributed a considerable amount of cash.
By a study, 75% of students purchase their reference books on the recommendations from their senior siblings or someone else. 5% of the students purchase their books to conserve papers, as they don’t even touch those books until the board exams passes. Yet, those books advantages them, as they can offer them in higher expenses to the next 12thies. 5% of students purchase reference books amid the last time of the session. Also, 10% students do not purchase any reference books at all, as they firmly have faith in N.C.E.R.T course readings.
So, i have divided the students into four categories as far as books they purchase. So, which is the best among them? well there is no precise answer, anybody from above can score more than 90% in their board exam. Now, what? in the event that you see there are still 5% of students remaining after summing up every one of the students in above four classifications. And, you are one of the 5% students.
You are not quite the same as every other student, as you probably know that the research before purchasing a book is an essential step. If a book is useful for somebody then it doesn’t mean it is useful for all. Purchasing a book with good research will definitely give you an awesome support. Likewise this 5% of students who cherishes exploration is expanding year by year and all because of the web.

# Best Books For CBSE 12th Physics
I have gathered the best books for 12th Physics with the reasons why to purchase them and vice versa. You can order them straightforwardly by tapping the ORDER NOW button. Toward the starting i have collected those books which you should purchase at the earliest time of the 12th class.
1. NCERT Solution By Arihant
NCERT book of physics is too hazy and difficult to understand, but do not underestimate this book, as this is the only book which tells you the exact syllabus and topics to study. Also, if you turn out the previous board papers of physics then you will see a lot of questions has directly appeared from NCERT book.
So, NCERT book is a must buy. Now one must look for the ncert solutions which is provided by NCERT solutions by Arihant, this book provides all the solutions to the questions present in NCERT book whether they are in-text or the exercise one.
Why To Buy?
It is not necessary to buy this book, but if you want to score good marks then do not let this book go. By this book you will be already covering a number of questions that have a good chance to come in the board exams. Also, while preparing you will find the questions that already have appeared in previous board exams, this makes Arihant’s book even more interesting to study.
You must know that no question in board exam will fall out of the syllabus, so reading and learning NCERT questions and answers should be your first step and this is the best reason i can give you.
You can carry this book wherever you want and this really helps while preparing for physics.
Also, if you do not want to buy Arihant publications book then you can opt for other books containing the solutions of NCERT book.
How to study?
If you believe in NCERT book then, first complete a chapter or a unit from NCERT textbook completely. Then open up NCERT solutions by Arihant and practice all the questions from that unit or chapter thoroughly. In this way you will be covering the chapters in the best way. Overall, i want to say that NCERT of physics is enough to secure great percentage.
2. Pradeep’s Fundamentals Physics
Pradeep is always the first choice among all other reference books, or not? let me clear all the perspectives and doubts regarding this book.
Pradeep’s Fundamentals is a simplified writing of all the concepts and topics given in NCERT book, hence, it is kept best according to the syllabus.
Why To Buy?
You can prepare for competitive exams from this book as well. At the end of each chapter and unit there is a vast number of questions with their solutions which have appeared in previous board and some competitive exams, and this helps a lot while preparing for board or some competitive exam.
Pradeep’s Fundamental Physics with Value Based Questions – Class XII
Pradeep’s Fundamentals describes each topic in a simplified manner with good diagrams and graphs so that it becomes easier to understand the derivations, theories and numerical. You will find some highlighted and colored text within each topic, this makes it even more easier to retain important things.
Why Not To Buy?
There are lots of unwanted questions which really doesn’t help(if you are preparing for board exams only). The theory and explanation part is well written, but not described to the roots, so if you have less grip in understanding physics then you will find difficulties in understanding the topics as well, until you discuss the topics with your teachers. But, do not take this book in a negative way. This book is really helpful when you study it by the beginning of 12th class.
How to study?
First of all, do not buy this book when you are running out of time. Say if you have only 4 months then let this book go and opt for some other book. By following the suggestion below.
Give at least 1 to 2 hours a day and complete this book in 4 to 5 months, so that you can get enough time to revise it and opt for other books too.
3. Modern ABC
If you are comparing modern ABC with pradeep then please stop doing that, both the books are far apart from each other, pradeep is more focused on board exams and less on the competitive point of view, and vice versa in Modern ABC.
Why To Buy?
Most of the students prepare for competitive exams with their board exams, and Modern ABC is slightly more focused on competitive perspective, and hence this book is great go from competitive point of view.
Modern ABC helps even after the 12th class, each topic, definition and derivations in this book are explained in a very efficient way, which really helps a lot. Book also contains important question and answers for both board and competitive exams.
Why Not To Buy?
As I mentioned above that, this book is specially designed for the competitive exams preparations. So, if you are just focusing on getting good percentage in 12th class, then the content in this book is more than enough and will take almost 2 years to complete. What i mean to say is that, this book has some extra topics which are absolutely out of syllabus and useless to study, when preparing for board exams.
You cannot take this book everywhere with you, and this creates a bit restrictions while you are preparing.
But you can make a good use of ABC by putting NCERT book beside this it, and read those topics only which are in the syllabus.
How To Study?
Well ABC will take a lot of time to complete, so you have to spend more than 3 hours a day to complete this book on time. Also, do not buy this book when there is shortage of time, say you have only 3 months left for the exams.
Also, keep maintaining side by side notes from ABC and put the page number on your notes as well, this will help you to find the topics easily and save a lot of time.
Best Books For Physics – last 4 Months Of Preparations
After you have completed base reference books, OR you haven’t prepared anything yet then these last month books can help you to get a beautiful percentage.
4. All In One Physics
All in one physics is the best choice for the last time preparation, when you are running out of time, or you haven’t studied anything, then this book will bring you the content that you will need exactly in the board exams.
This book is well written and has all the important stuff related to the board exam of physics, moreover, according to the users reviews on amazon, this book is far better than S.L Arora. See, I am not an anti S.L Arora, may be S.L Arora will benefit you and suits you more than All in one physics, but just give this book a try during the last months of preparations and you will see the results in your favour.
The reason why this book is best to go with is simple, as this book strictly follows the NCERT syllabus, so you do not have to open up your NCERT book again and again to check the syllabus. Simply, everything written in this book is important. And if you are not intelligent enough then go for this book.
5. Xam Idea
This is not so popular book in terms of physics, and its selling rate is less as compared to other books. But like All in one physics this book is also very strictly according to NCERT syllabus, and there is no extra content out of the syllabus.
So, as the name suggested xam idea, this book focuses on board exam and not on the competitive things.Book also contains a lot of questions from previous years and from NCERT book as well, which really helps a lot in boosting the preparations. The best thing about these last month books is that you can take them anywhere you want.
Also, you do not have to prepare notes while studying from these sort time books, as they are in themselves a big pile of notes.
Last Month Books – Physics
If you have reached to the last month of the preparations and have completed all the theories, derivations and notes, then it is the time to sum up all your hard work at one place. The last time books play a vital role in boosting the percentage.
If you haven’t read anything yet, and are living under the fear of getting fail, then these last time books can save you.
6. 100% Success – Evergreen
Don’t know why this book is not so popular in e-commerce websites, but as a personal experience of mine, this book is well written and has all the important questions from previous board exams. This book covers the model questions from each chapter and previous year questions as well, which can prove really very helpful to finish any chapter.
Reading the theory, or practicing the derivations of physics is not really enough, because in board exam you will find the paper far different from your expectations, and this happens only in the case of physics. So, reading the books like 100% success is worth and gives you the proper idea that how the board exam paper is going to be.
CBSE 100% Success Sample Question Papers in Physics for Class 12
7. CBSE 15 Sample Question Paper – isucceed by Arihant
This is one of the must buy book for the last months of preparation. Unlike 100% success this book has sample papers only, but very selected ones. This book also contains fast track revision notes at the end, which will help in finishing each chapter efficiently.
But, before buying this book let me clear you one thing that, you also practice the previous years questions as well, so that there remains no page unturned at the end.
And no doubt! you must go for this book which is well written, well formatted and boosts the confidence for the board exams.
# Best Books For CBSE 12th Chemistry
Preparing for chemistry is far different as compared to that of physics, and this subject needs some different strategies and hence different books.
Books which are best for physics does not necessarily mean that they are going to be best for all the subjects. So, do not ever buy all the books of same publisher, these are not my words but the words from the achievers in board exams.
1. NCERT Solutions By Arihant
Again, as I said in the case of physics NCERT solutions, same can be followed in the case of chemistry. And not only chemistry, this must be your first target to read out the NCERT book along with all the questions present in each chapter.
And for chemistry I found NCERT solutions by Arihant again as the best book to go with, the paper quality is not so in favour, but the content in this book is really worth studying.
And according to me, you should go for this book from the beginning of the 12th class.
Why to buy?
Chemistry is much easier than physics, and you can get much more marks in chemistry as compared to the physics. And if you look over some previous board questions from chemistry, then you will find most of the questions have come directly from the NCERT book. So, buying a book having all the solved questions of NCERT book is worth your money.
How to study?
Keep this book always beside NCERT textbook, and whenever you face any question or problem in NCERT book, then use the solved book to learn or practice the question, this will make you stronger for every chapter.
Buy a bright sketch colour pen, and highlight/mark the important text in main NCERT book while reading it. So you do not have to read the whole para again while revising.
2. Pradeep Vs Modern ABC For Chemistry
I have written both the books together, but I know no one will buy both of them. So, which one are you going to buy? ok, let me give the difference between both the books.
Let’s talk about Pradeep first, most of the students do not find this book useful, according to the reviews on e commerce websites, pradeep is good for physics but not for chemistry.
Now you must be thinking that Modern ABC will be a good choice but there are the same reviews for this book too.
Modern abc of chemistry class 12
Pradeep’s New Course Chemistry – Class XII (Set of 2 Volumes)
Why To Buy?
Both Pradeep and Modern ABC are likewise. If you are damn serious about the competitive exams after 12th class, then you must go for these books as they can bring a great competitive exam stuff. But Modern ABC is more focused on competitive exams as compared to that of Pradeep, so overall, you should choose Modern ABC over pradeep in case of chemistry.
Do not form a negative image of these books in your mind, if you are a bright student and looking for knowledge + marks then you must go for one of these books.
Why Not To Buy?
The reason is very simple, if you are willing to cross 90+ marks in your board exams, then you should let these books go, and opt for other books listed below. These books has a lot extra content which is useless to study while preparing for the board exams. So, think twice whether you are preparing for 12th only, or you are looking for competitive exams.
How To Study?
If you have decided to buy these books, then let me tell you how you should deal with them. Your primary target should be to complete these books as soon as possible, and make it half of the year, if possible. Whether you are preparing for 12th board or some competitive exam, first thing comes first and that are your board exams. So try to wind up these books as soon as you can, so that you can give time to revision as well.
Best Books For Chemistry – last 4 Months of Preparations
If you are preparing for chemistry from the starting of class 12th, then go for the books listed above, else, if you have less time and you are not prepared with chemistry yet, then you do not have to worry, as there is still a lot of time in which you can easily score more than 80 marks in chemistry.
3. All In One Chemistry
All in one chemistry is one of the best books for the last months preparations, all the topics and questions given in this book are strictly according to the CBSE guidance. Each and every topics are described in a very good manner.
Over all, this book is best to buy for the last months preparation. As i said before, the board question paper of chemistry is always easy, as it seems hard while preparing for it. So, these last time books are enough for chemistry to score even 90+ marks in chemistry.
How To Study?
If you have bought this book at the beginning of 12th class, then everything will go smooth for you. But, if you are buying this book before 3 – 4 months of the board exams, then you have to invest more time while studying this book. Investing means 5 to 6 hours a day.
Also, try to complete this book in 3 months, so that you can get more time to practice sample and previous years papers.
4. Xam Idea
Unlike Physics, Xam Idea for chemistry is the best book ever. This is also a last months preparation book, but it can bring you more than 90+ marks easily if you study it with full attention and concentration.
You can trust this book, but let me tell you one thing clear, while preparing organic section from this book keep NCERT textbook beside, as the organic section of this book is not well explained, but the question and answer given at the end of each unit are very useful.
So, for organic chemistry learn out the important structures, definitions, and reasoning given in each chapter, and then go for the question and answers from this book.
Since, this book is lite and portable therefore, you can carry it anywhere.
Last Month Books – Chemistry
If you are completed with any of the book above, then it’s time to practice the model and previous year papers. And below is the list of best books for sample and previous year papers.
5. 15 Sample Papers isucceed by Arihant And 100% Success by Evergreen
Let me tell you a fascinating fact about chemistry, in chemistry, if you study only the sample and previous year papers 2 or 3 months before the exams, then you can easily score more than 50 out 100 marks.
Both, 15 sample papers and 100% success are very good books to study during the last time of your preparations.
But, there is a difference, the 15 sample papers by arihant only offer sample papers, which means you will have to study the previous year papers separately.
CBSE 15 Sample Question Paper – CHEMISTRY for Class 12th
CBSE 100% Success Sample Question Papers in Chemistry for Class 12
And in 100% success, you will find both previous years and important questions of each chapter, so it is worth to buy 100% success, but according to the reviews of arihant publications, the sample papers book by arihant is also great to purchase.
How to study?
Do not invest too much time to study these books, finish them as soon as you can. Also, revise them as often as you can. No need to make notes, just fold out the pages in which you are finding difficulties and read them out later.
These books hardly takes 20 to 25 days to finish, so do not invest more time on them. Keep one thing in mind, these are last time punch books, if you will have a good luck then you will face a number of questions in board exams from these books.
# Best Books For CBSE 12th Mathematics
One thing that is very clear about mathematics is that, you cannot rely on NCERT only, and you have to purchase a reference book so that you can practice more and more. In mathematics, you can easily score 100 out of 100, all you need is a smart study, and for a smart study you need a smart book.
1. NCERT Solution By Arihant
I don’t know what you are buying in physics and chemistry but for mathematics NCERT solutions by arihant is a must to buy.
Why To Buy?
If you take the previous year papers of mathematics, then you will see that a number of questions has appeared directly from the NCERT book in the board exam. So, this simply means that if you practice the NCERT book only, then there is no one to stop you to get passing marks.
Just by practicing out the ncert questions you can put yourself in a safe zone.
NCERT solution by arihant provides all the solutions to the problems in NCERT, including the example questions with extra hints. Apart from the NCERT solutions, this book also provides the previous year questions to practice from each chapter, which really makes this book a much reliable source to practice mathematics.
You must know that the example questions given at the beginning of each exercise of NCERT has more probable chances to come in the board exam, but these questions are difficult to understand in NCERT text book. The book from Arihant makes these example questions easy to understand.
2. R.S Aggarwal
R.S Aggarwal has been delivering the best content for years in its books, specially for mathematics. Every student who had prepared for the board exam from this book, has always praised and suggested this book.
Why To Buy?
99.99% Accurate solutions and the easiest approach to solving the questions makes this book much useful for 12th board examinations. Also, you should know that many schools have even replaced NCERT with this book.
In this book, you will also find the previous years questions, and the exercise questions at the end of each chapter. If you can solve each and every question given in R.S Aggarwal then you can score 95+ marks without any doubt. You won’t find extra and useless questions as this book is specially kept as per the syllabus of class 12th.
How To Study?
A regular practice with revision is required with this book, give special attention to the previous year questions. Give at least 2 to 3 hours a day to R.S Aggarwal and also, take an extra half hour to revise the question you had done earlier.
Complete this book within 6 to 7 months, and opt for last time preparation books as given below.
3. R.D Sharma
There is a lot of difference between R.S Aggarwal and R.D Sharma.
R.D Sharma is a great book, but only for those who can afford it, not in terms of money but in terms of knowledge. This book not only focuses on the 12th board, but also focuses on the competitive exams. So, if you want to prepare for competitive exams as well, then this book is worth buying, else, R.S Aggarwal is more than enough If you want to focus on getting good marks in maths exam in boards.
R.D Sharma comes in two sets having lots of questions to practice, including the previous year questions as well.
R.D Sharma is best over R.S Aggarwal, but only for those 12thies who want to give more time to mathematics.
One more thing I want to write about R.D Sharma is that, doing Calculus from it is worth, as it explains it more clearly and deeply as compared to other books.
So, overall when you have to choose between R.D Sharma and R.S Aggarwal then pick one of them according to your intelligence.
Best Books For Mathematics – last 4 Months of Preparations
If you still have 4 months of preparations and you haven’t practiced anything yet, then you still have the time to start your preparations.
4. All In One Mathematics
You can buy All In One Mathematics to start your preparations, this book is specially written in accordance with the NCERT textbook.
It is enough to get good marks in your board exams. Also, if you are not too intelligent in mathematics, then opting for this book will benefit you in a positive way as compared to that of other books.Like Physics and Chemistry, this book is a short comprehensive, and for beginners it’s a great book to start with.
You won’t find any previous year questions in this book, which is bit disappointing but the overall content of All In One mathematics is sufficient to score good marks.
How To Study?
If you are well familiar with the syllabus and you have already practiced a lot of questions, then try to complete this book in 1 to 1.5 months or sooner. And if you are still well unknown to the topics and questions, then take this book everywhere with you until the board exams knocks the door.
Also, after completing this book do not forget to solve some previous years question papers to make a good grip on mathematics.
5. Xam Idea For Mathematics
In last 4 months, Xam Idea is a great book. As the name suggested, this book is full of important and previous year questions, which helps to get the real exam idea. This is hard to choose between All in one mathematics and xam idea, but if you do not want to opt for any other stuff like books for previous year papers etc. then you must buy xam idea, as this book is a complete package.
The calculus sections (which is the most difficult and lengthy unit in the mathematics of class 12th) is easier to do with xam idea.
This book cannot bring you the guarantee to secure more than 95+ marks, but yes, if you study this book with full concentration, than you can easily score in 80’s.
Last Month Books – Maths
In last month there is no need to buy books, it is the time to sum up all your hard work together. And it can be achieved by practicing the sample and previous year papers. So, below i have compared two well known books for the last time preparations.
6. 15 Sample Papers – Isucceed AND 100% Success
Solving sample papers is worthy only if you are well prepared with all the syllabus and every question. Sample papers are specially meant to provide you an idea about the final board exam paper, what I mean to say is that, one cannot rely on sample papers only until he/she has the keen knowledge about every topic.
So buy 15 Sample papers book by Arihant only when you think you are well prepared for everything.
And if not!
Then, go for 100% success, this book not only give you the previous year questions, but also gives you the questions to practice which has the maximum chance to come in the board exam.
CBSE 15 Sample Papers Mathematics for Class 12th
CBSE 100% Success Sample Question Papers in Mathematics for Class 12
And in my personal experience, one must buy this book at last time to give the finishing touch to the preparations. If you do not believe me, then take out the last year board paper and 100% success book and compare the questions, you will find that at least 3 questions in the board exam has appeared from this book without even a change in value.
So, choosing between these two books is all up to you, both are suitable for different situations, it depends on which situation you are in.
# Best Books For CBSE 12th Biology
Biology of 12th class is much easier to prepare as compared to that of 11th class. Some of the students do not opt for any reference books on this subject, as the good listening during the class is enough to secure good marks in Biology.
But majority student do buy reference books. So, the books you should look for are as follow.
1. NCERT Solutions Biology – Arihant
Like all other editions for different subjects, NCERT solution by Arihant is a must buy book if you are an NCERT geek.Although, NCERT textbook is sufficient to prepare biology, but one must buy this solution book by Arihant publication so that he/she can prepare in the best way.
With the solved NCERT questions, this book also provides some extra questions which are really important from the board exam point of view.
2. Sample Papers And 100% Success
To secure good marks in biology, you must go for the sample and previous year papers at the last time when you complete the NCERT and all your notes.
Arihant’s 15 sample papers proves to be the best seller every year, also you cannot rely completely on this book you need some previous as well as the guess questions to make your preparations perfect, and for that you should buy 100% success for biology.
100% success for biology is the best book to go with, preparing with this book at the last time will surely benefit you.
CBSE 15 Sample Question Paper – Biology for Class 12th
CBSE 100% Success Sample Question Papers in Biology for Class 12

As for English I would say your syllabus books are enough to help you score good marks. I would also recommend you to first complete your course from NCERT books and then move to reference books. Practice as much as you can. Keep yourself focused and be dedicated towards your studies.
Hello mam. I have little doubt regarding which books I should prepare from. I want to prepare just for boards not any competitive exam. I have already purchased S L Arora in physics, Grb in chemistry and RD Sharna in maths. So, what I need to do to get 90%+ in boards? Please tell me.
Hi Vikas.
As, you have mentioned that you are in 12th class and look forward to score really good marks then NCERT books are most recommended for all students who mostly focus on board exam. First of clear all your doubts and basic concepts from NCERT. Don’t leave any topic. After that if you want you can also study from other reference books. Most importantly you have to understand that everything depends on your hard work. Keep yourself focused and be dedicated towards your studies.
Can i get 90+ if I study physics exam idea completely??? I am in class 12 and I have a problem in deciding about which book to study and which book not to study for physics.. And how… ?
Hi Anupreet, yes of course, you can score 90+ by studying from Exam idea. But, at the same time, i suggest you to go through NCERT book in depth. Most of the questions in board exam generally comprises from NCERT book. Good luck.
Sir I recently purchased MTG cbse champion 11 years solved book for getting good marks in class 12 I am very confused that in which book I totally focus. So please tell me that firstly I read which book ncert or MTG Book for scoring good marks.
Hi Anmol.
NCERT books are most recommended for students who aim to score good marks in board exams. You must first study from NCERT books and clear all your doubts. Focus yourself on your studies then you can revise your chapters by studying from other book. Keep working hard and you will score good marks for sure.
HI MAM,
I am Muthu Visakan, my stream is PCM Comp, Your review is so good,
So far I bought , physics and chemistry – X am idea and I am so confused to buy the apt reference book for me so pls help me which should I buy either Xam idea or RS AGARWAL, Does RS AGARWAL contain solutions to all the question.
please does it easy or too hard like RD SHARMA.
Hi Muthu. You seems to be a bit confused. Let me tell you, both the books are equally good but as you are looking for solutions, i would suggest you to choose R.S Aggarwal.
Hello Mam…. I am confused what to buy b/w 100 percent success and Arihant chapterwise solved papers for board exam preparation of chemistry…..I have just started my class 12 which one should I buy
Hi Shiv. It is good to see you working hard right from the beginning. Keep it up. Both the books are equally good, but as you have asked to choose any one, i would suggest you to buy 100 percent success. It will surely help you at the best. Good Luck.
Hello Ma’am
I have currently started with my 12th class and I’m confused as which physics reference book to buy that focuses mainly on 12th board examination because most of the books are quite vast. I have already purchased one for Competitive exams.. Please let me know that which one amongst SL arora & Arianth All in one for physics and chemistry both, will be more beneficial at this point.
Thanks for your time
Hi Devyani.
First of all don’t get confused over this thought that which is the best book. Every book will help you in your preparation. NCERT are the best books if you want to score good marks in 12th. For the reference book SL Arora is better than Arihant as it contains all the topics much clearly for both Physics and Chemistry. For competitive exams HC Verma is also a good book to prepare from.
hello, i just wanna ask that among All in one by arihant or exam idea or u like, which suits besg for a average studdnt in his last 2.5 months of preparation, please reply asap.
Hi Karan. Three of these books are equally beneficial and you can choose any of them. But, at this moment, when exams are around the corner, i would suggest you to practice more and more sample papers and previous year papers which will give you an exact idea of important questions and at the same time, you will get to know your blunders.
Sir i am left with half portion of Chemistry. What should i do now? Its high time. So what should i do? which book or what can i do? Help me Please??
Hi Sahil.
We know that very less time is left, but utilize it for the best. Start preparing from sample papers and previous year question papers. You will get good marks.
Sir I am nimish birla I am in class 12 I want to score more than 90% in boards but I am confused in references which one to buy in biology as my ncert seems to be finished
Hi nimish.
You can use arihant’s biology for thee reparations but we will recommend you to do your preparations from the sample papers and previous year question papers.
SIR/MAM
I am currently in class 11 and next year I will be preparing for both class 12 boards and for IIT.
Can you recommend a good book of chemistry in which concepts are explained in a detailed way and also includes the extra competitive level matter in a very simple language.
For Physics I think that Resnik Halliday Walker is the best for concepts and now I am looking for a good book of chemistry for concepts.
Please reply.
Hi Raman.
Firstly make all your concept clear with NCERT book, once you are finished with your course book then go for some other reference book. And you could refer ABC, Pradeep for chemistry.
Thanks for your advice Mam!
But I am still confused between modern abc and the GRB books .
Most of the people say that GRB is better than modern abc is that true?
It all depends upon your ability to understand the things. You can try both the books. But as the time is remaining very less, we would recommend you to start practicing from sample papers and previous year question papers.
Sir,
I student of 12th cbse pcm can u suggest a good refrence book for english and also books which have high possibility of question coming in board exam as i have read that together with and 100% success had questions which have come in boards. Can u please suggest the books.
I have just started with syllabus and want to get good percentage in boards so can u give me some tips about how to manage time now and how to focus on studies.
Thx
Hi Ranvir.
There is no such assurance that which book is good and from which questions will be framed. But we would recommend you firstly concentrate on your NCERT books and then go for some other reference book.
Hi Hemil. As very less time is left with your board exams, so firstly start with those chapters with which you are confident enough, and could help you gain good marks. And I would recommend you to use NCERT maths only. And for physics Arihant is good, but firstly take your NCERT into consideration, then go for some other books.
Hi Hemil. As per my experience, these extra books are a waste of time and money at this moment but as you have bought it already, i would suggest you to take an overview of every subject in the very first month.
Spend the remaining time in revising the concepts which you have already learnt throughout the year either from previous year papers or from this book which you have bought.
sir i am class 12 student and my subject combination is PCMB. Sir, i want to know which book should i prefer xam idea or all in one or together with or u-like and i have completed my NCERT 2 times sir please help.
Hi Krishanu. As there is so less time remaining for the exams, i would suggest you to start practicing previous year papers instead of opting for some other book.
Sir my school is providing students advisor 10 sample paper book for board it is true that the sample paper of this book is good and my chemistry mam told me that in board exam some questions comes from this book and my tution teacher says not true, now I am confuse and I read ncrt has a boost as you said in your last article so plz give your opinion and books for sample papers plzzz.
Hello Farhan,
no one can predict the question that will come in exam, so do not rely on some external books. NCERT is and will always be the best book to prepare from, apart from NCERT if you are looking for sample papers, then you can consider books like 100% success of evergreen.
And I will say again that do not rely completely on other books.
Hi Ankit. It is so nice to hear that you have completed your NCERT books 2-3 time. Good going. Yes, you can absolutely score 90+ with it. As you have enough time still left, do one thing, practice sample papers and previous year papers. They will help you a lot and at the same time, you will get to know the important questions which generally appear in the exam.
Hey Aman, if you like that book, then you should study from it. But, do not be in the hope that the next year question paper will come from this book again. Don’t be dependent on it, keep your preperation upto the mark.
I agree whatever written in this blog about the importance of NCERT books. I advised my nephew who is preparing for Competitive exam to take help from NCERT books. I also want to recommend this website to all who are looking for NCERT books.
Sir which reference book is best for computer science class 12 which contains lots of question?
Hey Ketki, All In One Computer Science CBSE Class 12th and CBSE 15 Sample Question Paper – Computer Science for Class 12th are great books to practice questions of CS. Also, Sumita Arora, Oswaal book and Herbert Schidlt’s The Complete reference C++ are some famous book to study for computer science.
Sir I am following xam idea for biology is that enough or not and what is the level of biology paper when compared to mathematics?
Hello Shuvam, xam idea is a good book if you have covered all your syllabus as this books offers sample papers and other practice paper. So, if you think you have good grip overy your syllabus, then this books is great. Maths and biology are two very different subjects, and comparison between them is not possible, but for the last two years, maths has been way tougher than biology.
Sir, can you recommend me a good reference for computer science?
Hello Arjun, on doing some research, “Computer Science With C++ Class : XI” is the most famous book that is available on internet. Just click on the link, if you wish to see the reviews about this book, or if you want to order it online.
sir,
I am in class 12 and I am done with 1st part of physics, chemistry and maths. My 1st sem. exams are in September and only 1st part of each subject is coming. My main problem is that I am not able to figure out that what should I do now, should I do the syllabus further? or just revise the things I have done? Sir I also bought Arihant all in one books, but there are some corrections in it. Actually, I am worried that what books should I study from right now, and what things to do now. I am so confused that its been a week for me sorting this and still I am in the middle of nowhere. Sir please help me out here for every problem I stated above.
Hello Navdeep, first of all you need to clear your mind. Just relax, get organized. Let’s start with the first problem (what to do next?)
Science you are done with the half of the syllabus, therefore i will suggest you to give a weak or two to revision. It’s always good to revise thing, but do not waste too much time on it.
Begin with the further syllabus after you spend enough time doing revision, do not wait for your school or tuition classes, just proceed.
Now for “which book to buy”, i will suggest you to go with books that gives the detailed explanation like ABC. You will find lots of questions of different level in these kinds of reference books.
You are on right track, just keep going. All the best! and don’t hesitate to ask if there is something you want to.
Sir, what type of refresher should I prefer for physics?
Hi Ambrish, it depends on how you want to prepare. If you want to do deep study, then heavy weight refreshers like modern abc and pradeep are best. And if you want to practice just the sample papers and stuff, then books like exam idea and all in one are good.
Sir I Want Previous year question papers for class 12 cbse, which should include All India papers, Delhi region papers as well as compartment papers of previous 10 year. Which book should I go for?
Himanshu, you can consider 100% success from evergreen or exam idea etc to buy. These books will serve you well. Also, in order to help student, we have collected the previous years question or almost all subjects of 12th class. Just search the desired subject in the search box given in the header.
Sir, please suggest me a good text from where I could teach physics best. I did MSc in physics but I was from my regional board in my HSC and I have to teach CBSE students.
Hello! Kapil, I think Pradeep will be a very good choice for you, as the topics are well explained.
sir, I am in class 12 right now…the biggest problem for me is that I am not able to decide that whether to score more than 90% in my boards should I be studying ncert or reference books…and please tell me that is ncert enough if I want to score more than 90 and I am only concentrating on my boards and not at any competitive or entrance exams…please help me here..
Hi Navdeep, reference books are good to clear the concepts as NCERT does not offer good explanation. So, i will suggest you to study from both the books i.e NCERT and reference book. If you think that your concept are clear, then just stick to NCERT and practice more and more sample papers and previous years papers.
Hi sir, can you say whether SL Arora is enough to get 95+ in my +12 CBSE board examination?
It totally depends on your preparations weather you will score 95+ or not, and not the books. SL Arrora is a good book to prepare from, give it your best and you will definitely achieve your target.
Hello sir, I’m a student of class 12th. What is your opinion about “together with” books?
Please consult.
Hi Prashant, we haven’t reviewed that book yet. Since, you have mentioned it now, then we will study it. But right now, I can not give any advice to you.
Sir I am Akanksha, I failed in maths. Which book should I read for compartment?
I am Ayush of class 12th cbse board. Thanks for your help and article.
Sir, how To study Physics? our school teacher is not that good, he always gives notes to us instead of clearing the things. NCERT is going to be very tough to understand by self studying, because if our 11th is so weak then how 12th syllabus can be understood.
We are in great problem.
With regards – I and My Friends
Hello Ayush, I totally agree with you that NCERT is very though to understand without any help. You can consider to buy reference books for physics which may help you to understand things, you can take help from internet which can be very effective. Just search for the topic that you want to understand and you will get plenty. If the topic is still not clear to you, then you have to ask someone with more experience to help you in studies.
I would have suggested this in normal condition, but since you do not have any one that can explain things to you, therefore, you have to look for tuition classes. Also, try to ask your school teacher to explain things to you, and take necessary action if need be.
Sir my name is Amritha. I am studying in 12th class, and I am getting low marks in maths and physics. Please tell me what should I do to get 90+ in physics and maths.
Hello Amritha, you have set a difficult target for yourself, so obviously you will need to work hard. First thing that you should do is be regular in studies, try to give time to every subject daily (even 1 hr or half an hour will do). When ever you go to study, first try to revise quickly the topic that you studies before. Time to time revision is must if you want to score in 90’s.
Try to develop habits that will improve your mental skills, and finally don’t forget to solve practice papers like previous year and sample papers.
Sir. I am Paulson Raphael from Kerala. I myself is a teacher. I was searching for which book to buy for my daughter who has just entered 12th standard. As my subject is biology and since I have not much idea about other books, I went through your article. It was really useful. Thanks a lot. I hope I can do better now to select and purchase the books for my daughter. Isn’t the NCERT books explained things in an unnatural way? I think straight forward explanations will be more effective. Perhaps they might be trying to arouse the inquisitiveness of the student, but isn’t there a chance that the difficulty level might distract the students? Please reply sir, as I want to know your valuable opinion.
I agree with you Paulson, reference books are in market because student find it difficult to study from NCERT. I am not saying that NCERT does not provide sufficient content or explanation, but not every student has same thinking level. I think CBSE should publish NCERT books in a language that every student can understand easily. After all the main moto is to educate student in the best way, not confuse them.
Sir I am Ankur Pandey. I am in class 12. I am very confused about pcm, I have heard from many that NCERTs are most-most important for board to fetch 90.
As the session has started now, I am in a great dilemma what to do?
Should I study only NCERT, or go for reference books.
Sir please help.
Hi Ankur, just relax!
All the reference books are based on NCERT, or we can say that they are just the practice book for NCERT topics. So, this concludes that NCERT is important indeed. But, this does not mean that you should not study from the reference books. Here is a simple solution for you:
What ever topic you study in a day, try to practice the questions from NCERT first and then from the reference book. Make sure you do it on regular basis, because if you don’t then it will be extremely difficult to do it later.
Sir, is SL Arora a good Book to study physics in a simple language and for good marks?
Of course, if you are willing to put efforts, then any book will do good to you.
Hello sir, I want to say that I took two side trial classes for 12th maths. I found that one teacher was teaching from only NCERT, and he also taught iit students. The other one was teaching from RD SHARMA, he said that he take all 12th marketing questions. SO, please give me the information that which teacher is good.
Hi sir, I am Aswinth. You said that RD Sharma book is good for competitive exams, but if I buy that book can I score good marks in board exams, and which will you prefer among RS Agarwal and RD Sharma.
Hi Aswinth, you can score good marks by reading any of the book. But, the condition is that you have to put your efforts. You can choose RS Agarwal, if you do not want to go too deep. otherwise, RD Sharma is good for deep study.
Sir, I am buying a second hand book of modern ABC chemistry for class 12 of edition year 2005-06. Has this book completely changed? will it impact negative performance? please reply, should I buy modern ABC chemistry updated version?
Hi Rishabh, i think 2005-06 is quite old edition. As you may know that the marking scheme has changed this year, so you will not be able to practice sample papers of new format. Also, there will be lots of changes which you can miss. So, i will suggest you to buy the new one.
Sir, how to score 95+ in physics, and which book is to reffer.
The only way to score 95+ marks is through hard work and dedication towards studies sandeep. As for which book to refer, all the books mentioned in this article are good. So, you can choose whichever you like.
In pradeep of physics the concepts are clear but the numerical portion is not good. Am I right?
Sir, is SL arora a good book for scoring 90+ in 12 board, or should I look for some other book, like pradeep.
Hello Naman,
All the books are good if you really put your efforts and hard work to study them. But, to help you in making a clearer choice, i would recomend SL Arora, as it has better reviews than any other book on internet.
First of all, I want to give you tons of thanks, as recently I have stepped in 12th class and the books recommended by you are truly useful. And now I am going to buy them.
sir your tips to score 90 in board exams are mind blowing, any student who will read these tips will be fill by confidence. And also, the selection of book makes it easy to select according to capabilities. Thanks for your tips sir.
Sir, first of all thank you for sharing such good info with us. As I have purchased RD Pradeep of maths and physics respectively in class 11 do any of them have relation with class 12 boards? secondly, sir for 90% in 12 if I prepare my full NCERT then done with 100% success sample papers. Will it be sufficient or I should focus on rd and Pradeep?
Thanks for your comment Tuba,
What you study in 11th class is far apart from 12th class, but it matters when you prepare for competitive exams. So the books do not have much relation with 12th class.
the answer to your second point, NCERT is not enough all the time but it is sufficient to get more than 70 marks easily, but, to reach in 90ties you should take care of other reference books as well.
